M/s. Duncan Brothens (Bangladesh) Ltd, an associate company of the Camellia Plc. UK is one of UICL's major sponsor stakeholders
United Insurance Company Limited has an authorized capital of Tk. 500 million, of which Tk. 445 million has been fully subscribed and paid-up by its shareholders, UICL is one of the sponsors and major shareholder of United Finance Limited, a leading non-banking financial institution operating in Bangladesh
Considering UICL's good financial performance, sound solvency, good liquidity, satisfactory underwriting. diversified ownership pattern, very high claim paying ability, strong protection factors etc, the Company has been awarded "AA" Credit Rating by Credit Rating Information and Services Limited (CRISL), one of the accredited Credit Rating Agencies of Bangladesh.
United Insurance Company Limited underwrites all types of non-life insurance business including non-traditional insurance like Health and Overseas Mediclaim insurance

Because of its selective nature of underwriting the premium income of the Company is modest, it generates steady underwriting profit every year and has produced profitable results for the reinsurers since inception
With a view to ensuring prudent underwriting of large risk of high value and expeditious settlement of
claim, the Company places its 50% reinsurance portfolio to overseas market with rated re-insurers. It can
be confidently said that the overseas reinsurers are very satisfied with UICL's way of maintaining
re-insurance accounts and speedy settlement of dues
